  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • Ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place chicken in a large Ziploc bag and pound to an even thickness of ½ inch using a meat mallet.
  2. In a bowl, mix olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, Italian seasoning, sugar, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Pour over the chicken in the bag.
  3. Seal the bag and massage the marinade into the chicken; refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or up to 12).
  4. Preheat grill to high heat. Remove chicken from fridge and let sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes.
  5. Lightly oil the grill grates and grill chicken for 2-4 minutes per side until juices run clear and internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  6. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
